SUCCESSFUL LADY STUDENTS
At a recent competition for telegraph clerks in the Post Office held at various towns throughout the Kingdom  among nearly 80 competitors was taken by Miss Nellie Dodds, Bella Place, Broughty Ferry, who has now been appointed to Kirkcaldy Post Office. Miss Elsie Anderson has passed successfully an examination held in Dundee a few weeks ago as sorting clerk and telegraphist, while Miss Maggie Brady has qualified for the appointment of woman clerk in the Savings Bank. All three were specially prepared for their examinations at the classes of W. Stewart Thomson, M.A., Civil Service and Business Academy, Bank Street, Dundee. The next competition for girl and women clerks takes place in October. The age limits are 16 to 18 and 18 to 20, and the commencing salaries £35 and £55, rising to £190. About 250 appointments will be offered for competition.
