THORNTON POST OFFICE
Her Majesty’s Postmaster General has written a letter to the Hon. George Waldergrave Leslie to inform him that the Thornton Post Office is to be opened on the Queen’s birthday – Wednesday first – as a postal telegraph station. This boon to the public is owing to the indefatigable exertions of Mr Waldergrave Leslie with the Edinburgh and London postal authorities. Mr Gray for twenty – years assistant at Kirkcaldy Post Office, will be in charge of the Thornton telegraph.
